Year 2’s topic this term is Looking Through the Keyhole where we look at features in the local area. As part of this we learn about canals and their inventor James Brindley. On Wednesday 25th September, we went on a lovely walk into the city centre to start our journey from lock number one all the way to lock number twenty-one. We got to see all the things we learnt about such as locks, viaducts and narrow boats. We even saw how locks are used to change water levels so that boats can go up and down hills.
