On the 18th June, Dunstall Hill Primary School, took part in the Love My City School Programme. Love My City is an initiative that inspires and encourages the people of this city to spread love and kindness, believing it can transform a city. The initiative was founded by an ex pupil of our school, Navi Aulkh who created it as a direct response to the negative press received in the city in 2015,  her social media campaign reached 55,000 in the city.

The pupils heard this fantastic message of how to put love into action in a diverse community, encouraging them to take responsibility for their city. The message of being the change was caught and translated into a creative project. The children spent morning working in teams creating poems, posters and sculptures to tell us what they loved about their city.

The outcome was brilliant and the ideas that came out of this initiative were amazing! To see the creativity of each child and the ownership they took of their projects was inspiring. The day was full of ideas and it was amazing what the children produced in such a short amount of time. We would like to say well done to years 4, 5, 6.
